Doublewide held on for a huge 11-10 victory last night over Ballz Deep, which catapulted Doublewide from 5th in the standings all the way up to 2nd - leading into next week's playoffs.
Doublewide led 9-2 going into the bottom of the 6th inning, but Ballz Deep's sticks got hot as they scored 5 to cut the lead to 9-7. Doublewide got 2 big runs in the top of the 7th (with 2 outs), which ended up being the difference since Ballz Deep scored twice in the bottom of the inning. The final out came on a 2-run homer by Ballz Deep, which was an out because it was their 4th homerun of the game.
As the 2nd seed in the league playoffs, Doublewide (9-6-1) will host the #7 seed Team Streicher's (5-11) at 8 p.m. The teams split their two games during the regular season. A second game against either #3 PT Mortgage or #6 BMW will follow at 9:15.

ReplyDeleteGame 1 - Dirty Grizzlies vs Amish Donkey Mob: Kind of suprised that Amish Donkey Mob got the 8th seed in the playoffs. But with their 5ing 5 wins they have beaten all 4 of the top seeds in the playoffs although have struggled as of late. I'll take Drity Grizz in the first round 15-8.
Game 2: Wild Turkeys vs Ballz Deep:
This should be a great game for two teams that have played many years in the Hopkins-Minnetonka league. Both teams are exactly the same. When they are hot they are hot and when they are cold they are cold. Both teams are capable of scoring 20+ runs any night. I'll take Ballz Deep 10-4. Too many people can hit a home run on their team.
Game 3: PT General Mortgage vs BMW of Minnetonka:
Newly added PT General Mortgage to the league started out strong with an undefeated season but have twittled down as of lately and BMW can play with anyone as long as they keep their heads in the game. Too close to call which team will win so I'll just put a final score of 13-12.
Game 4: Doublewide vs Team Streicher's:
